This is a lovely song Tim !!!

Love the way that melody spins along that floating open guitar .......

Playing and production great as we're getting used to. ( You spoil us Tim).

And the lyrics are really superb, rich in pictures and with some nice twists that makes you think twice ......

Bass is leaving you wanting more ....

Very cool song and a sweet bassline (as always) by Flash!!

Well done once again! ;D ;D

Just wondering, because I've never used alternate tuning myself ... would you play standard chords and have them sound differently, or would you have to play completely different chords with odd fingerings?  I'm just clueless when it comes to anything other than standard tuning, but have been curious to experiment.

This is the first time I've ever recorded anything in alternate tuning. I can see it's a whole, hidden new world if you have the time to experiment. With regard to chord shapes, I don't know how it works really... some standard shapes gives you a new, interesting sound, and others sound bloody awful! So with this one, I was using standard Em, D and G shapes, but with a few suspended additions. Anyway - all open chord shapes as I don't play bar chords.

You should try it and see how you get on. It does open up new sounds, but I find using a capo does the same thing, but with more control over the chord shapes. So this was interesting, but it's not something I'd rush back to...

This is a really lovely song, great that it came from such wacky inspiration. The chord sequences are really dreamy and the simple production works really well. The lyrics are clever and fun, great job Tim and Flash.

Will have to try one of those alternate tunings myself, never have so far.

Cheers,

Nigel

Bumpetty bump bump!

I'd forgotten about this, it was a product of an 'out-of-universe' experience for some songcrafters. And I'm ashamed to say I'd forgotten that I had played bass for Tim on this too.

Amazing back catalog Tim.
