Loud hum with internal mic

Hi, I had the very same problem with my BR600.
I phoned Roland and they could not have been more helpfull.
They gave me the telephone number of a Roland Tech in my area, and I dropped it off at his workshop.
He said he could not re-create the problem I was having, but re-soldered the joints any way.
I have not had a problem since, "touch wood", and Roland have said I have a three year warranty wth this unit, so i can relax and try to be creative. ps Vann love your work and hope to record something decent soon.
Wee Joe.

People experiencing hum, are you using regulated power supplies?

I am using the specified Boss PSA adapter, but the hum occurs even if I am using batteries.

My BR600 has not had the hum for the past couple months, but that could change the next time I turn it on.

It is a very intermittent problem, and that is why I am reluctant to send it in for repair, because it may hum when I send it, but work fine when they receive it.

It is very strange (and very annoying).
It ain't pretty being easy.

Hey buddies!

I purchased today a brand new BR-600 and I met same problem as you. (I came on this child board to ask help and I found this thread by accident).

Everything is fine, but using built in mics the humming is annoying on the right mic. It is really bad with DC-adaptor (PSA-230P). At first I thought there is something wrong with adaptor, but I tested it in MBR and no hum. By using batteries it dissappears suddenly, but comes back occasionally...? I took it in my bedroom and put it on the pillow so everything was ok for a while.

I tried also two battery powered condenser mics and no problem with them. There is naturally warranty, but it seems to be a feature...?

Hum with batteries, hum when using right kind of PSU, hum eventhough you know you don't have a grounding issue? Then like Sprocket said, it definetly sound like a cold solder joint issue or a broken mic and you need to get your unit checked out. That is if one has gone throught the checklist and found no solution. Also a good advice, when one knows that one has checked everything and found nothing, then check again...and again because:

"Assumption is the mother of all f*ckps" - Marcus Penn (played by actor Everett McGill) in the movie Under Siege 2
haha :)

I speak from experience. I have lost alot of money, time and equipment by not double checking my tripple check...ehm, well you get my idea. :)

Good luck on your error hunt people!
