I am in awe, this is very well done.

Fantastic work, I really like the vocal on this, not that there is anything wrong with the rest of it!

Thanx for the kind words everyone.

Quote from: Bluesberry on July 13, 2009, 08:31:21 AM...... lots of words there, must have been hard to sing the whole way through.  ....

Yep, and the lyrics where on 5 sheets of paper that kept falling down, so it's actually done in 2 or three takes (backing vox in 1 tho')... (didn't have my notestand at the cabin).

Well I thought I'd post the lyrics if anyone should want to have another listen ..

I had a dream
I went out into the sea
Or was it real
It's so hard to tell

I dived down
to a sound
so sweet and pure
yet dark and mature

I saw a girl
the fairest I've seen
her charm was strong
I had to move along

I heard the call
like a soothing melody
like overjoy
and deep melancholy

I needed air
her skin was fair
I tried to get back
her eyes turned black

and as I tried to get away
a sinking ship gave her another prey

When I got up
The sun had left the sky
The moon was shining bright
cold air filled the night

I crawled up on a jagged stone
I got the feeling I wasn't alone

I ran into the woods
seeing creatures there with hoods

And as I ran
I fell down on the ground
In front of me
there stood a lady

Emeralds instead of eyes
her hair just like fire

Oh, she reached out
and touched my hand
a wave of heat
took me to another land

I walked with her
until she turned away
I got a glimpse of another tale

Like the Sirens of the sea
there's a lady living in the woods
It was "Huldra", I did meet
there was no escape
no way off the hook

I was under a spell
oh .. I gotta tell you

It was a dream
the sweetest dream of all
it felt so good
like nothing could go wrong

She is so kind
she's always in my mind

I need no more
she's got it all
She's in my head
she's in my soul

And that is
the way it should be
I feel captured
I feel free

Thanks Geir for taking the time to post the lyrics.  This is really well written stuff.  It is very good poetery on its own, when put into song form, it is just unbelievable.  Very nice job here.  Sounds like quite the trip.  It is a masterpeice for sure.  Step up and take your bow.

Utterly stunning. Those beautiful harmonies and guitars drag you into their world and don't let you go. Pure musical poetry. You really know how to put a song together. This is a BIG BIG song, Geir. Feels like an Epic.

I have to say... This was incredible. Dare I say the Epitome of Badassity!!

Love the story, the progression, the tone, the singing, everything!

The ONLY thing I would say in critique of this, is that the vocals are little hard to hear at certain parts of the song. Maybe if they were up a just a bit. ;) Otherwise? EXCELLENT!

This song is a perfect example of why this forum is a very special and why I love it here.  A few silly comments in a thread, back and forth for a few days by a few members here, funny stuff, good for a laugh, then one of us goes off and writes and performs one of the greatest songs I have heard in a long time.  Whew, there is talk, chit-chat, banter (like 1000's of other sites around), but deep down we all want to make music, and we do, great music.  The making of the music is the main thing here, all the chit-chat and all that is secondary.  And when one of us gets an idea in our head, look at the results.  This song has inspired me big time.

The solo brought to mind John Goodsall or Allan Holdsworth, which is to say that it pushed my prog button big time.
