Pink Floyd
Is your Sabbath as Black
Is your Floyd as Pink
And that Oyster Cult
Is it as Blue as you think?
And if your Day is so Green
How come your Monday is Blue?
And when you look back
How was it for you?
...

And vivid were the colours?
How beautiful the hues
Did you stop for a while
Just to take in the views?

...

Is your Sabbath as Black
Is your Floyd as Pink
And that Oyster Cult
Is it as Blue as you think?
And if your Day is so Green
How come your Monday is Blue?
And when you look back
How was it for you?

Is your Purple as Deep
Now that your Zeppelin is Led
And are you happy now
Now that your Seven is Shed

...

And how vivid are the memories?
How strong are the regrets
And looking back through the years
Are you happy?

A simple, yet deceptively-effective performance, with a clever, teasing lyric that really does make you think. Well done.  8)

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

To me, this is a lovely reflection on listeners' relationship with music, and on the emotions and past experiences one's favorite bands and music can can evoke. The foregoing may well be totally off-base as to your actual intent here, but I quite liked the mediative and thoughtful vibe, and whether or not my interpretation is "correct," the song very much spoke to me.

Did you become the kind of person your record collection expected you to be?

This really resonates (not just because I carry disappointment in myself, but also) because it captures how people use music, especially iconic bands, as a kind of surrogate for risk-taking. Most people aren't equipped for the full expression of a creative, non-conforming life. So the band becomes both a badge and a refuge.

The strummed chords sound like they could be lifted from "Fearless" or "Breathe." And when the chorus (is it the chorus?) comes in—"How vivid were the colours?"—with that solo vocal and gentle piano, there's compassion, and also pity. Whoever is asking the question already knows the answer: No. Your rock surrogates did it all for you.

Man, this really hits the spot! Beautiful chords and clever lyrics, the cool vocals complete it. Great sound here!
