RIP Joey Molland of Badfinger

I'm sad to hear that Joey Molland has passed away. He was the 2nd guitarist and last remaining member of the great Welsh band Badfinger (edit: of the classic lineup anyway). A good songwriter in his own right as well, I especially love his song I'd Die Babe off the album Straight Up (with an excellent solo from George Harrison!). They were a band with a tragic story, but they were a big influence on power pop and had many classic hits. Rest easy...

I had read this news earlier today - a sad loss of a great guitarist. May he rest in peace. Badfinger will live on as one of the finest power pop bands of all time.

I always liked Bad Finger. Great singers, songwriters and performers. RIP Joey Molland.
