Heard by chance on You Tube, I really liked this song by two young guys from North Carolina, Carson McKee and Josh Turner, who form the duo The Other Favorites.

What immediately caught my attention was the magnificent guitar solo (from 1mn51 to 2mn15 in my replay), which I tried (with great difficulty!) to replay note for note (or almost, by ear).
This song reminds me of the ballads of another Mc Cartney Lennon duo, of which they are obviously great disciples (like Paul Simon's also for Josh Turner).

Josh Turner is a formidable multi-instrumentalist and virtuoso on baroque guitar, picking guitar, electric guitar, bass, banjo and mandolin,

Ah yes, I started this song before my H1N1 viral invasion, and I'm very happy to be able to finish it now!

angelina
who told you to
hide like you do
who let you down

you came running
up the stairs
caught unaware
in your sunday [?]

[chorus 1: carson mckee]
queen of the bushwick scene
queen of the movie screen
where have i seen you
angelina

[verse 2: carson mckee & carson mckee/josh turner]
rosy sunrise
through the blinds
still drunk on wine
a fool such as i

take a drag dear
from the sight
of your mouth as you smile
and offer me a lie

[chorus 2: carson mckee/josh turner]
queen of the [?]
queen of the in-betweens
where have i seen you
angelina

[outro: carson mckee/josh turner]
where have i seen you

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

en effet charmant et il y a des joueurs formidables en Caroline du Nord... les bois et les plaines en sont pleins... Je pense qu'ils sortent de toutes pièces...

oui, ton travail de guitare est splendide... wow.

Thank you Pru, thank you friends

What attracted me to this song '..I don't understand it :D , I'll have to read the translation but it doesn't always make much sense..), no in fact it's this strum guitar rhythm in 12/8 not easy to do, and especially Josh Turner's solo which I had a lot of trouble doing as I had neither score nor tablature, finally I did it and it is what it is as one of us says :D
