it's very windy here today and i think this has something to do with the lyric ...

the answer, they say is blowing out there in the breeze
Smoke from the burial fire will putyour soul at ease
The winds of change, the winds of chance, are all but the same
No one really has the answer so theres no one to blame
The courtesy of time
allows us all to see
A world in change
A world how its mean't to be
The answers lost to the wind
The answers are lost to the wind

Man tries to control his fate
he fails everytime
Cause  the answer blows in the breeeze and its always out of reach
The answer my friens  is blowing out there on  the breeze

Tangled webs
Wasted lifes
The answers blowing in the breeze
The answers blowing in the breeze

If Life is a dream then use your imagination

Interesting contrast between the strings and keyboard parts. Moody and dark vibe but tells a worthy story!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

DarrenG / The Devil's Toupee

Nice instrument choices and a cool intro, I like the way it changes its style. Quite dark and moody but it all works. Great lyrics and vocals as always.

I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

this is weird AF!  seriously... it seems because the way you do the voice against the fairly normal music...I really like the piano on this...
rocking good...
hard to imagine there aren't any drums on this... I love this line "man tries to control his fate and he fails every time.."  ain't that the truth.. we humans do a lot of good things but overall I think the trend is (shit e)...
the answers are blowing in the breeze...

reminds of that oldy "The  answer my friend is blowing in the wind"...
poignant... and I wonder if this means the answer blows to us in the wind?  Which would be the main consensus in a survey... however I always thought of it as the answers come when we blow into the wind...it is of course futile... which teaches me about most of our attempts to control outcomes... futile.

dude... you not only cool.. you do weird and strange music... and i can certainly vibe with it.

yeah man.. I would rather see you any day than say Elvis Costello?  really?  Elvis Costello?  nah... Trev Smith rules... now there is a concert I would want to see.  The Two Regs?  sure enough... label as you will it doesn't change a thing.

Hi there,

Grand timing Trever or Reg..Grand timing..

The answers blows in the wind..perhaps...

Like your style as always and vocal delivery and approach.

Super theme ..

Quite dark, but with light too...perhaps, eb=even, at the same time..

This is great Trevor... the piano is so chilled out and bluesy. I drifted away with this to somewhere far away. Excellent.

so cool and bluesy. love that piano and well sung with good lyrics.

Trist

quite a jazzy piece interesting to use keys with it, the track has a good vibe that resonates real well mid way through the track, cool track indeed

I like your approach to the lyrics.  Beautiful string and key work.  Kinda like Dylan meets Waits

Moody and evocative stuff, Trev.  Love the piano parts - especially the occasional overdriven low register chords on the the Rhodes..
