just finished work and my recording gear was still set up from last song, so i had a wee dabble and this one came out the other end. Got back from Alicante last week and now totally depressed by our scottish climes. however have Capetown to look forward too in the new year.

It is what it is.
Take the weight of my heart
Lay it by the road
This cold can't keep me
Tethered to the soil
I'm reaching for a place
Way beyond the blue
Where the nights are longer
Lighter brighter too

We're heading for the sun
It's what we really want
Where the skies are clear
We step into the blue
We're heading for the sun
Where we want to be
We'll warm our souls
Beneath the shining sun

The dark it gets us down
Chills us to the bone
When we go out
We put our big coats on
The trees bend in the wind
Their roots can't hold me still
Let's get away
And leave the cold behind

You know I just can't wait
Till we just get away
Pack our bags
And put them on a plane
The other side of the world
The seasons upside down
Where winters just
A place that they don't know

Cool song James, really great vocals here. The lyrics are excellent, such a nice vibe here!

Great vocal.  And a very fine song too. The laid back restrained backing just helps to lift the unashamed joy of the lyrics.

Superb production.

Loving this one. Great lyric and vocal delivery. Top notch song, mate.
