Hey 64G, just checked mine and it is a 1.03 version.
Maybe someday I will try to update it to 1.04 to see if it will
allow the usage of a 2GB SD without errors....
But for now, it is working fine and I will just let sleeping dogs lie...

I've done it too now !!

Used the original Boss 128mb card in the process to be safe. Seems like it worked fine. Have just completed the process so I can't repost of any improvements yet, but everything works fine. I'll keep you posted .....

I'm trying to make the upgrade but.. it fails, someone can help me?

The problem is:
- after i copy the four upgrade files on my SD (the boss 128 one!)
- i switch off the MBR
- i swich on pressing STOP and REC
- on the display compare a message
       "MICRO BR UPDATER
        pls, insert card "
while i'm sure the card is in!!
Any ideas???

Thank you !!

I have done the update awhile ago with no problems. As far as I can remember you have to format your card (INI) on your BR first. Then you take it out and format it in your computer.(It will read as an extra drive.) Once that is done, you tranfer the files from your computer on to the card. Then you insert your card in the BR and turn it on. Then you just follow the instructions on the BR. The main thing to remember here is to format the card on the computer AND the BR.It goes without saying that you have to make a backup of your card on your computer before you do any formatting.Hope this solve your problem!!!! :)

My guess is that you've copied the files into the ROLAND folder of the card. That won't work. The files have to be in the root directory of the memory card (at the same level as the ROLAND and MP3 folders - not inside them).

Thank you jacjrd, i tried this way but... still same bad result. I'm doing a standart FAT formatting with a MAC, is this possibly wrong?

I also follow the suggestion of 64Guitars (update files in root directory), no way..

The good news is that, thanks to MAC sd reader, i could save the job on a SD card (i thought it was lost), and the formatted card seems to work again with the MicroBR (the card was invisible for the PC!!). We say "Meglio di niente" (better than nothing ... )  ;)

Since there's no way to update my MicroBR to 1.4  :'(
i'm going to ask to local BOSS service,
i'll let you know if something happens!

I wonder if most of the problems are due to Transcend SD Card,
but i have found only this kind on card here in Italy..

Hope to solve soon and to record some song!

Hi kumale - I think you need to update the firmware using the original 128 MB card the MicroBR shipped with.

Have you tried that?

Edit: Whoops, sorry - looking back in the thread, I see you did try that. Is your original 128 MB card still working in the MicroBR?

Yessss, the original card works really well!
In those days i was working to a very big recording (300M, 3 hours of a complete concert that i recorded from mixer output) and so it's impossible to use the 128:
the job is separating all the tracks.. doing this job seems really hard for the Micro BR!

Yesterday i found that:
- my camera can recover data and format SD card (!) and the MicroBR recognize them
- inside my camera there is a wonderful Sandisk 1g....:P

I'll make some more try but: every advice i found in the forum has been very important!!

Hi All,

So if the view that this 1.04 firmware upgrade is worth doing?

I'm surprised that it is only the German site that has this upgrade on....

I've only had my MBR since Christmas, but already had 1 "card read error"....

Cheers
