Hi all, a little introverted and perhaps a little morbid but I would imagine I'm not the only one who thinks of their own mortality. Anyway something a bit more cheerful next time. Hope you enjoy. Willie.

Rickenbacker 12 String, Fender Electro Acoustic, JD-Xi pads.

I was tired I don't know why
I turned my head to see the time
Watched the minutes as they counted down
And thought back on my life

Was it good, well, Who can say
There's nothing here to judge it by
So I keep my clocks wound up all the time
And watch my life slipping by

I never used to worry 'bout the time
There was always something new
And now those wasted days seem such a crime
When I could have been with you.

No-one told me about those aching bones
Grey hair should have been a clue
And now at night we always stay at home
Too tired to move, so weary through and through.

I never used to worry 'bout the time
There was always something new
And now those wasted days seem such a crime
When I could have been with you.

Was it good, well, Who can say
There's nothing here to judge it by
So I keep my clocks wound up all the time
And watch my life just slipping by

You have a cool style and sound that is very recognizable. The guitars are crisp, jangly and full of life. Great vocals that defy your age. An excellent song and lyrics Willie but it hits very close to home for me. I say as long as we keep songwriting and playing our guitars we'll keep father time at bay  ;) Well done!

Beautiful song Willie! Nothing wrong with the subject matter, mortality is always an interesting idea to explore in songs and these lyrics are really poignant. Great music here too.

I'm back for another listen to this sentimental gem. The lines "So I keep my clocks wound up all the time
And watch my life slipping by". Yes, I can relate...a good one Willie!

Relatable...you bastard (I feel compelled to say that was a joke).

Yeah, relatable... Wonderful tune that I think resonates with many of us.
