Im so glad this got dug up...just amazingly beautiful, pure and clean...doesnt sound like it was recorded on a lil box. Love the panning, parts were just jumping out from different directions and blossoming.

And the ONE thing I havent noticed any comments on...this version ties both the original and the unplugged versions together, very nice! The best of both worlds...I will listen to both versions, from here on out, and wish it were this one...its that good!

Thanks for the kind comments guys and thanks for the *bump* Facemask !
It was fun to look on here today and see that Layla had dropped back in. :)

Interesting also to look back in retrospect... This forum has evolved so much since over a year ago.  Has been a real explosion of music and the bar just keeps getting raised higher all the time, a good thing for everybody.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

The production is great.  Everything has its place in this mix, which was potentially troublesome with all that's going on.  Nice placement of the electric in the end (non-slide).  It would have been way too easy to turn that up more than it needed to be.  Great job.

Loved the Skydog outro.

I just finished his book about a month ago, and I still can't get over what a selfish ass he was.  I suppose smack and alcohol played its part.  He has definitely has his share of hard knocks, though.  I can't imagine losing a child, much less in the manner in which he did.  Awful.

No problem. Feel free to reply to any message, regardless of age.

Indeed, that is something I've never understood. Why administrators on most forums discourage posting on old threads.

I am glad this came up also.  Amazing. Wish I could make my stuff sound so cool.  This was posted before my time here started.   wonderful job!!  This one is going down to cp.

Boy, am I glad that Facemask93 revived this one (since it was from before I joined the group). What a great rendition, Hooper! The performance if flawless, and the recording, clear an balanced. Very impressive. What did you use for the mastering process, just the MBR? Did you tweak the patch?

Not many people would include Jim Gordon's instrumental section at the end. That was a treat. Jim was a talented and troubled individual. Very sad story.

Great work, Hooper!

There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Yes, nice bump. Kind of like the Small Faces play Clapton. Lovely production and very cleverly done. My particular fave here is the vocal sound, beautiful and clear. That's hard to do.

Cheers,

Great bump! This one pre-dates me joining the forum, so I missed it first time around. It's FAB FAB FAB. Absolutely perfect performance and production, and part of an incredibly impressive track record!
