Saij  I'm glad you reposted also.  I haven't heard it before either.  But I really like it.  Yup swampy blues is a good way to describe it. This ought to get you!!  Almost has a country ring to it! LOL

Nice singing, man. Reminds me of a couple big names...in certain parts, close to a guy there was recently a -fest for. Agreement with some others here, the rhythm/lead alternating really works well. Nice cover.

Glad you posted again - I was amused by the other thread, but it's a lot better being able to hear it :)

Don't know the song, but it's a good take on it.

Out of interest, what didn't you like about it?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, pretend I'm sat in the engineer/producer chair, egging you on... I'd have three things for you:

I love the feel of the rhythm parts - don't mess with them (unless you've got something even better, but different, up your sleeve). These are good - tight but loose, lovely feel. If you're worried about these - stop worrying... :)

I like the ideas for the guitar overdubs, I'm not sure whether they're the best you can play, though. However, if you're worried about these, before you redo any, try experimenting with where they are in the mix - they're quite high and exposed. Try and get them down to the same prominence as, or to just below, the lead vocal - also experiment with different reverbs and taking some bottom EQ off of them, you might find they sit real nice as they are.

Vocals - I'm guessing this is what really worries you. You got warmed up and more confident second half of the song. It's a really good performance there, it's an actual performance, it's difficult to catch those on disk, and it made me smile. It means you can do the first half at least as well as that. It might be you were going for a different vibe first half, and it hasn't come off so well- but I don't think that's it. How many takes did you do? Did you warm up? etc etc... From the second half, I think you can do some stunning lead vocals - capture a "performance" on recordings. But you need to put in the time.

It's the thing I have most trouble with myself - it's all hard work though: I practice with the track at full volume, on and off for several days, getting used to singing it. I warm up before the actual singing. I record several/many takes, analysing each and every line of every one. I sometimes build a single take out of several - hard to do on the MBR. If I find a way of singing a verse I like, I practice it and then apply that to the verse I don't like, practice that, and then try doing the vocal again, maybe even a few days later...

(I suddenly realised that people praising my singing recently might think I just "get in there and do a couple" then take the last one... umm.. no! It takes a little bit more than that, every single song...)

Anyway Saijinn - I reckon you're a singer.... keep singing, it just gets easier the more you do it... :)
