City Fest

Another for the city fest.

2 rhythm guitars - strat
1 noodly lead guitar additions - strat
1 guitar solo track - strat
1 bass - Harley Benton
1 drum track - garageband

These city streets
Not paved with gold
And they won't be coming
In from the cold

The place that he works at
It don't have a soul
But he's gonna be there
Until he grows old

They thought of moving
Out to the coast
But they don't have the money
So they gave up the ghost

——————

There's people with problems
That they don't need
People with drug habits
That they gotta feed

Out in the darkness
That's where they roam
Their names and faces
And fate unknown

And it will consume you
Wearing you down
Keeping you somewhere
Where you won't be found

——————

There's a kid on a bike
Delivering dope
In a few days time
He'll be starting to smoke

He doesn't know it
But his life is done
He's given it up to
The way of the gun

Somebody once told me
You'll never get out
You can check in but
You won't be checking out

A good one for the City Fest, Mike. Your vocal is right on the money vocal and the Strat solo is very tasty. As is the bass work. A great listen!

Great sound, definitely a lovely  strat tone here. I dig the post-punky sounding bass line and the solo is awesome. Once again, you have such a way with words Mike!

This drew me in from the start with that cool drum beat. Great song, Mike with an incisive social commentary in the lyrics. Nice guitar work too.
