Another taste of Patrick Balfe for anyone that's interested.

I recently worked on his biography with him and i am constantly moved by his Poetry, Music and Art.
Patrick has always and still to this day struggles with his mental health. Something that i too have done in the past. Many of his songs touch on this subject and i find it deeply moving how he approaches this difficult part of his personality which although makes him extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable, he manages to convey just how he feels with tenderness, sensitivity and great beauty.

I have transposed this from a demo recording he made over 10 years ago and to be honest there was no other way to do this other than to keep its basic simple structure and sound, so i recorded the guitar using only the laptop mic and just played it, exactly how he did in his bedroom all those years ago. I then added the vocal track.

i really like the way you made the guitar sound with the method you used to record it.. it is different.. and sounds really good.

it does have an older style sound to it.. and really makes a great bed for your voice to lie down in...

a really nice mellow song.. that is a great project you have going on.  Thank you for sharing this and about
Patrick!

Really nice recording here Dan. It feels like I'm sitting in the room listening to you play it. I love the doubletracking you did on your voice as well. It's a beautiful song, reminds me a bit of Elliott Smith.

Thanks for your comments. Patrick is a big fan of Elliot and you can definitely hear his influence in his music.
