Haven't posted a tune with John in more than a minute. An initial mix from last week. Needed some catharsis. Just wanted to rock out.

Lurker

I've been carrying this poem around for a while. I finally found a use for it.

The sky is turning red
I'm crawling from my bed
I hear the storm approaching
I feel the pressure ebb
The promise of this day
May carry me away
Upon the waves that crash
Across this windswept bay

Oh the wind is rising
Stirring heavy squalls
Waves will crash around me
I must withstand it all

Reluctantly I stay
Watching out the way
To warn away the wayward lest
Upon my shoals they stray
This day may bring an end
To this vigil I defend
But I may see a thousand storms
Break before I mend

Oh the wind is rising
Stirring heavy squalls
Waves will crash around me
I must withstand it all

Everything breaks upon my rocks
What washes up doesn't come off
Large and small I find it here
Strewn across the passing years

Wearily I tramp
Up to tend the lamp
Against the windblown salt
And the constant damp
Don't ask why I toil
Freshening the oil
Here I stay until the day
I see the ocean boil

Oh the wind is rising
Stirring heavy squalls
Waves will crash around me
I must withstand it all

The Keepers of the Lighthouse.

so Blooby crawls out from under the house after 3 days in a crawl space and has a bit of froth on his mouth.  He grabs his guitar and takes out the last days pain strangling its neck and strings.  he demands it bring forth peace to his windswept soul.  It begins to work with in a few takes and after it calming him down to just a mere breeze and light rain he picks up the bass and completes his work.

finally, he grabs his genie lamp and begins to rub... opening the bottle he summons the great Lurker from with in... ascending like a misty Posiedon, Lurker is aware of why he is summoned.  He delivers the message to the world as it comes forth in the media of the Tudigong.  The Poseidon like Lurker knows what he has taught many of the keepers of the light houses... to be in the storm is where the power comes forth.  if you can survive it.

now... I got this on repeat.. there is way too much to digest.
the breakdown at 2:30 ish reminds me of the vocals of the great Ferryman.  this song takes many twists and turns.  you gotta be really good to whip something like this up from scratch.. that bass alone is worth the price to get in..

just wondering what else Lurker does in the bottle there.

A great rocker Blooby and Lurker! Excellent bass and drums. Lurker's vocal and lyric are excellent which feed the rock theme well. I like the move into prog rock land at the middle break and ending. The O.D. rhythm is getting a real work out and the tasty lead soloing refuses to be left behind. Nice work guys!

WOW! What a great rock track with excellent instrumentation and vocals. Production/arranging is first class, Bruce - well done to you both on this stellar collab. That guitar solo .... jeez.

And rock it does. Formidable guitars, and the lyrics are a reminder of the power of water (which too often is underestimated).
