We just had quite a bit if clean-up and lost power for 24 hours or so, but the town where I used to play got a record storm surge. I just don't how you bounce back. They are showing a lot of footage from Cedar Key, and it is just unfathomable how much devastation there is.

My newish job is running the camping department in the local Bass Pro. Yesterday, I sold about 20 generators and heard some unbelievably sad stories. One couple in particular lost everything. Their housed unmoored during the surge, and just debris was left.

I hope Hook did okay. Just texted him.

Peace.

I'm exhausted from cleaning up yesterday, but at least we still have a home. Many of the coastal towns have been devastated by storm surge. Entire areas were just washed away.

Yet, the rainfall has caused catastrophic flooding hundreds of miles inland. I heard about neighbors raiding a swimming pool for buckets of water to flush their toilets in western North Carolina. Nearly every road is impassable. Generators won't run if you can't get fuel.

Our trials amount to nothing when compared to others.

StephenM

yeah western NC is essentially impassable... they have no I40 as in the road is gone near the NC/Tenn border... trucks and cars were lined up for miles... and I gotta wonder if any of them fell in there... on the other end of Asheville I-40 is closed at Old Fort... I have read that Asheville is essentially only reachable by air... I-26 is closed there as well.... tractors trailers floating away... the small town of Chimney Rock is gone... absolutely swept away... parts of Boone are underwater.. even Morganton got alot of flooding and it is likely at least a week before water can be restored...
Parts of Tenn, GA, and NC got devastation.. and parts of SC are still out of power...
where I am near hickory we had power outage for about 13 hours and some still don't have it. But overall we faired well... yeah, it has been bad and the I-40 thing i just don't know how they fix that... parts of the entire road became a river and washed away... and alot of that was built right into the side of a mountain... and a very important road..
there are lots of video's and photos on FB and tik tok etc... glad to hear that Blooby and Lurker are fine... and yes, some of the northern gulf towns on the beach areas essentially disappeared.  This was a massive storm.
Peace and good will to all!
