featuring the voice and lyrics of Mike_S... and a great job on this for sure...

I did the music a few months ago and wanted Mike to do vocals and lyrics.. I think he nailed this.

They'll cut you down to size
Without a doubt
They'll leave you hanging on
With no way out

Wake up it's late if you think it's just a game they're playing
They're not your friends and I hope you see that your mistaken
You won't believe it when I tell you all the reasons why
Like everyone you need to see it with your own two eyes

Shadowy figures they're watching every move you make
There's nothing that you have that they're not gonna take
When you wake up you'll see that things are not the same
You'll be living in a nightmare with only yourself to blame

They got your information
There's nothing you can do
And you can't get away
Even if you wanted to

They know your every move
And where you're gonna be
You're just a prisoner
Held in captivity

It's a hostile... takeover
It's a hostile... takeover

... the enemies of the state are the state
... the ones that govern you have enslaved you
... you are defeated and not a shot was fired
... you will do as you are told at all times
... can you hold your head up and say you've tried
... you will cast your vote for the final time
... from now on it will be meaningless

ladies and gentlemen welcome to the new world order
It's a hostile... takeover
It's a hostile fucking takeover

you can call me anything you like.  Just don't call me late for dinner

I think you both nailed it.

Then eel magic is once again in full bloom. Those drums sound tasty and as much as it pains me to say (maybe lie down before reading further).

You're showing new found restraint with your drum grooves. They're still wild and 100% Stephenized, but there's something dare a say mature about them. Your drumming style is the kind where thr drums have riffs and they add a lot to the song. The kind of 70s "Peter Criss" style where they're integral part of the song rather than just plain grooves.

The guitars sound tasty too. I'm listening to this with my new hi-fi headphones (Koss Porta pro, consumer grade cheapos that have been in circulation from the 80s!). But they're hip again and i'm trying my best to hang with the cool kids.

And oh boy. I'm a huge fan of Mikes vocals and this is no exception.

Splendid song guys!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

This song starts off with a great crunch guitar sound and the rhythm is tight. The drums are real cool. The guitar and bass are in perfect locked step with the drums, well done there Stephen! Mike's vocals and words are done well and fit the vibe of the music perfectly. A cool collab!

70s vibe on this one. Like the riffage and like the vocal delivery.
