Condolences Pete, a really tough time you have gone through - a lot to process.

This was great to hear today. It's a real classic and one I don't get tired of. You totally captured the spirit of this. The playing and vibe is spot on and your version would be great in a live setting. Good vocals too!

this is an absolutely outstanding cover. I love this song and you've done a great job!  Especially the guitars keys and vocals! If anything I would say that the vocals in the verses are a little quiet. They are so good maybe boost a little?  The other thing is that the Backing vocals on the I shot the sheriff part or maybe distorting a tiny bit (at least when I listened on my phone).  but those are really minor issues and this is really great overall!

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I heard this a while back and started commenting while listening to the song. I had this whole tirade going on that i don't even remember anymore... Until i read the song post and thought that would have been wildly inappropriate in this case.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

An outstanding cover. I've gone from not liking this song to liking it and then maybe even hating it? I mean the whole song concept is kinda on the nose. The metaphor started feeling a bit silly. I mean "here's a rock - go play with it?" (maybe that's my next song).

What i'm getting at is... I enjoyed this cover and it made me to appreciate the song again. I just try not to think about the metaphor too much :)

Thanks for your feedback Des. I don't have a dedicated studio space at home..all my music gear has to be stored away out of Mrs C's sight so when I do record something I usually set everything up in the main bedroom, grab whatever guitars/keys I need and rush through the recording then clear everything away again. I'm old school and still mix and master on my BR800 and just run the track through Audacity to trim it, normalise it and convert to MP3.

I decided to have another go with this and downloaded all the tracks individually from the BR800, imported them all to Audacity and mixed them there. I could see there was some clipping on the backing vocals and a bit on the main vocal so managed to even them out with some compression and a bit of normalising. Then I used Bandlab for the final mastering. Hope this sounds better ! I'm always aware that I really should spend a bit more time on my tracks so thanks for inspiring me to try something different !

I'm very sorry to hear about your mother, may she rest in peace.

This is a really groovy cover, definitely has the vibe and mojo of the Clapton version. Great guitar work and an excellent vocal.

I'm laughing because I know just what you're talking about with not having a studio space and rushing through recording before the Mrs. comes home (upset that more chores were not done) :)

The new remix sounds great. I really enjoyed this - impressive performance especially now that I know your recording conditions :)
