I don't see this as political...
the song is melancholic gold and up to  your usual great standards... you had me from the opening chords, as your guitar sounds reminds me often of the underpinnings used by one of my all time favorite bands, Boston.

That sound revolutionized the rock world and so many effects were built trying to emulate it. 

I hope you get through the trying times well Willie... this is a beauty of a song... so at least something great came of it...
emotion is one of the best drivers of song writing.

Yeah not good... what a cold (in every sense) thing to do. Cold hearted stuff.

BUT... it gave rise to a proper good tune Willie. I can feel the hurt. Damn fine songwriting. And hell... this wouldn't be complete without those haunting guitar tones. Keep em coming.
