Tim and I decided to do a cover of George Benson's "On Broadway".

George Benson, a formidable jazz guitarist whom I was lucky enough to see live at the Vienne Jazz Festival in France.

...and in covering "on broadway", I didn't really realize how difficult it would be

Well, with perseverance and tenacity we got there, "it is what it is" as an illustrious SC colleague put it.

Thanks Tim for this collaboration and for your vocal performance on this song, for my part I did bass, guitar...and a first for me in this attempt at Scat!

Scat is one of George Benson's signatures and he excels in this genre.
it involves playing a guitar part and singing the same part in unison

...very difficult ... in fact... I cheated by playing the guitar part and then re-recording the vocals.

I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

ah ah ah ..indeed I can say that the drum kit, even if I have an electronic one, is not an instrument for me so I use almost all the time either realdrums from band in a box (very good especially for brushes), or MT Power Drum Kit (free vst) which is good for 4/4 and 6/8 rhythms but I place the breaks a bit approximately and not always the best chosen.

...there's always room for improvement...but this time it's the last one!

a few changes in this version for the clip

° a guitar track in reverse mode
° a guitar for the bridge
° I've adjusted the drums, especially in the breaks
° enhanced the lead vocal

It sounds better to me...
