This was one of my first songs that I wrote, so I wasn't really concerned with structure or anything.
I never wrote a bridge for it but I still like how it turned out and so did the judges.

I was a semi finalist in a songwriting competition called "Big City Song Star" with this song. The competition is no longer around but my song will hopefully live on in this forum.

I had this idea of writing a song for a girl who was having a bad week at work. Had this idea of renting her a limo filled with her best friends and driving downtown to her favourite bars.

This isn't my voice. I hired a singer named Drew Dawson Davis. You can YouTube him if you want. He does vocal lessons and will sing on your demo for the right price.

Anyways here it is...

The Star Treatment
Drove up in a limousine
With all of her best friends, it was the weekend
Let me set the scene
Caught up in works misery
Her tears were a sign it was time to treat her like a queen
So we bought her a dress like they wear for walking red carpets
she was famous to us, that night we treated her like a starlet

Gave a little star treatment
A little feel good summertime healin'
Life through a curve, thought she was cursed
Was blessed just didn't believe it
Her fashion statements between bars on sidewalk pavements
Struck out all week to living the dream
You should've seen it
My girl needed
The star treatment

Her angels full of jealousy
They'd pull strings, trade their wings for that LBD
Champaign flowed for the VIP
Returned the love she gave to us
Yeah, love was her legacy
Then she gave a speech like she'd won a famous award
Then she called out her favourite song and pulled me back on the floor

Gave a little star treatment
A little feel good summertime healin'
Life through a curve, thought she was cursed
Was blessed just didn't believe it
Her fashion statements between bars on sidewalk pavements
She kissed my cheek walked home with me
You should've seen it
Gave her something to believe in

Although new here, you're adding some fine songs and production! Not a country fan myself but can really appreciate the quality material you're creating and sharing! 8)

This is a very professional sounding recording, mix, performances and production! The singer nails the country pop style of vocals. Well done!

Another great song. Nice lyrics and the music and vocals are great.
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.
