I've had a couple of whiskies and got strumming the guitar and this one popped out .....I've been watching the Peaky Blinder. i must be one of the last to watch it so i think this has something to do with that and the titles from my bookshelf which i was looking at when making the lyrics.....
She had lost sailor when he came back from war
She'd got nobody waiting nobody wanted her no more
Flash backs of sympathy, were rarely seen
The fallout of the war was eaten up by the Machine
Prisoner 13498 was stood to attention
Watched his friend killed by the new invention
His head cut off clean as guilotien gleemed

Nobody really paid attention

The bullit hit the headlight
Nobody knew why
Darkness hit the highway while a man laid there and died
The hassle freed from his problems
While the sicilian smiled

Gunshots at midnight
The heist was on
The vilains were famous the wannabees sang there song
All was quite while the witnesses lied   when they testified
All
Was quiet while the witness testified

Anarchy
In the streets

Shut the door bar the window

Somebody said the dream was alive

That the sexy beasts had died
No one gets out of here gets out alive
its true everbody dies

If Life is a dream then use your imagination

Cool bluesy vibe on this song, Trev. Great lyrics and excellent vocals. I like that tempo change at around 2:50 which works well as does that pervading sinister feel of the song.

Inspired by a great series then! Nice gravelly vocals. Nice laconic guitar riffs over the track. Good work.

wicked great track Trev... a real stunning story that holds true throughout the centuries, even though this may be based on a specific time period...

really loved that intro lead wah..

and the music chugs like a lazy freight train well ahead of schedule... great... track..

Bluesy and dramatic. With guitar melodies that are built on tradition. Great stuff!

Wow!  Some heavy lyrical content!
Delay on the acoustic leads work well.  Your voice has the Tom Waits quality.
Compelling story.
