Went down another rabbit hole with this. Mind playing tricks on me and all sorts. Not happy with various sounds, messing with reverb, eq all sorts of things, deciding i had ruined it, remixed it a couple of times and ended up going F**k it i don't care anymore. About the only thing I was confident on was the rerecording of one guitar part. Guitars were both too trebly I thought so rerecorded one on warmer neck pick up. I think that helped.

(Small bit of background... I lived in London for a long time, I met my wife there. We then moved to Spain for a short time and eventually settled happily now in Ireland for the last 14 or so years)  and the lyrics are a reflection of that)

Cool reflective song, Mike. Some nice chord changes in there and neat guitar work. Is London your hometown? Though I lived in England a long time I never went there; I certainly wouldn't go there now.

Songs that come from the heart are the best. You had a lot to sing about.  Great mix too.  The drum work and the bass kick a**!

Your stuff is always great, for me it's not about  all the guitar tones it more the songwriting.
You always write a great tune and so with this one, well done excellent!!

I listened to this several times earlier today but obviously forgot to leave a comment. Maybe because I was too busy listening  :D

Well there's a reason I listened so many times. It's a damned good song.

Love the structure of the song and the chord progressions... great guitar playing and the vocals are soulful and tells a story. Just the way I like it.

Well done

Brilliant track Mike, true Americana by way of Ireland! Bouncy bass and I really dig the descending at the beginning hoe the song feels like it keeps changing. Great stuff!

Great song... recording totally works.  Great backstory Mike.
I am with SE... the song is real good.
The way you put them together is always unique and original.  Major points in my book.

All that remixing probably did a lot of good! I mean this sounds fantastic. I like the balance you've achieved  with the instruments and the vibe of the song is so catchy. The driving drums, bass and rhythm guitars are all to the point. And the way you're able to tell the story.
