This is actually just a challenge to myself... can I play for 7+ minutes without fucking up too much.

Well I did things a bit differently this time. I recently bought a Katana mini practice amp, and wanted to try recording it, but due to my laziness/lack of energy I didn't bother setting up microphones and optimising the recording conditions. I just put the Katana in front of my iPad and stared recording. First the rhythm guitar, then some rudimentary drums before playing the lead guitar in one take (had two dry runs first) then I added the bass also in one go.

It sounded a bit thin so I added a Hammond, also in one go with no punch ins.

This is the result, warts an all.

I don't expect anyone to listen through it all.  Just having fun  ;D  8)

P.S. I realised that this may qualify for the festival as it's just two chords all the way through

Edit. There Sems to be a consensus that the bass was too low, and maybe the Hammond so I made a new mix, more explanation below

Edit 2: I've now deleted the original mix and replaced it with the second as to not clutter this site with too many versions of the same tune.

Can you imagine I listened to it twice I had to shove my earbuds deep in the right orifices to hear the hammond and the bass.
I think you sucieded in your goal to not mess up during 7 minuten. Well done.
I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

I listened to it all... and it is quite good... i love these musical ramblings... this reminds me a touch of the Allman brothers... or perhaps the Almond Joy brothers... this is joyous music..
the Katana doesn't sound bad right out of it into your tablet.. darned creative too... yeah the thing is inspired... the bass and hammond do sound so great in there... wonderful mix.

After describing your recording strategy, I am gobsmacked at the guitar tones here. Sounds like the middle section of a song by a killer jamband.  Would love to hear you bookend it with a proper song and sandwich this in the middle all while cranking that bass. I apologize in advance for mixing my metaphors.

Wonderful playing. I am going to steal a few bends toward the end. Killer.

Excellent guitar work ,I love the addition of the Hammond.
The Katana is a great amp ,I've got its big brother and its the best amp I've played.
Nice fluent playing.
Like the bass pedal work on the drums by the way.
Great stuff.

I like it a lot but would like to hear more bass.  I hear it but it needs a boost volume wise.

I'm a simple man. I see Geir, i click.

The only thing missing is that world famous voice, but i guess we can't have everything all at once.

I did listen to it until the end. So did my dogs. They were waiting for their bones :)

Well played!

Katana mini is a keeper. So light weight and with that Boss sound. I've got rid of my amps, but that one stays.

1) I'll keep that in mind for my next one  8)

2)seem like I was too eager and posted a suboptimal mix.

I hope I've rectified that with the new mix. I even took it one step further and generated a midi file from the bass track. And then added a virtual bass with some more bottom end low in the mix.

Now how did you covertan audio file to midi you might ask .... well believe it or not but Spotify actually has a website for that. The resulting midi file ain't perfect but with some editing it's amazingly accurate.

Here's the site.

I agree. It's amazing for its size (and weight). And mostly, if not completely (not sure about the delay) pure analog.  No fuss. Plug in. Choose clean overdrive or brown and jam on.
