Velvet Underground or not, I like this a lot and maybe does remind me of the kind of alternative rock that could be heard on late night FM back in the day. Very cool, laid back and smooth, suggesting a lot of careful attention given to musical and technical details. Really nice!

Yes, the slide part was the Danelectro. I love the sound of it for clean guitar parts, it's one that I go to a lot because of that. All the electric overdubs aside from the first part were from the Dano 

For a fairly cheap guitar, that middle position with the two pickups engaged is glorious, no wonder Page likes his....
