Quote from: Blooby on May 30, 2024, 07:43:26 AMOoh, that Phil Spectorish snare sound grabbed me right off.

I had an idea of how I wanted the snare to sound and ended up doing a lot of experimenting with different snares and reverbs. This is gated, then goes through short reverb, compressor, then long reverb and another compressor. It's close to what I wanted!

There are 4 string tracks: A mellotron emulator, cellos, string ensemble and full strings.

The solo is made up from parts of 2 separate takes, using AXP flextron vst

Can certainly hear the ELO influence. Cool song with a suitably upbeat feel to the chorus, though the lyrics are downbeat. Might be my headphones (probably is), but I found the bass a tad too loud. Otherwise, damn good!

Nice  composition lyrics, production, voice guitar did I leave something out? Oh strings I guess.
No realy it is perfect.
I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

Wow. This is massive.

Really catchy melody and a fab ascending arrangement.

I too can hear Elo and Beatles but also supertramp and for some reason or another: Manfred Mann's earth band.

All on my desert island top 10 so that must mean this is good !!!

Well done

A really cool song with some fine vocals, Karl. I also hear the ELO, Beatles, and Pink Floyd influence in different sections of the song. Your mix is real good and the ending guitar solo is so tastefully done. I enjoyed it!
