Steph, the singer in our band, asked some of us to record a version of this song for her father's upcoming 70th birthday. She sang it live with a guitarist at his 60th birthday. This is just a demo I've done with Steph until we can get together with the other members to record a final version.

oooooh... I am digging this... lovely voice Steph has... reminds a touch of Natalie Merchant.

nice guitar work... the mix sounds good in cans.  If you don;t get around to doing more I think this works.

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Wow, Steph's voice sounds quite a lot like Sandy Denny's. Loved the arrangement, too - and all faithful to the original.

This is fucking awesome. I love Sandy Denny, and the vocal on this really captures the heart and soul that it needs to. The whole arrangement is lovely. Blissful.

I love this song too, especially the first to lines of the lyrics. This is a thing of beauty.

You have done a great job on a great song. It's a beautiful track and to try and do the vocal justice really takes a hell of a singer. Steph nails it. And some fine guitar work Pete. This works more than fine if you leave it like this. But if you get time to do a full band version that will be great to hear. Brilliant Pete/take a bow Steph.

One of my favourite songs from the 60's and you have covered it beautifully. Great vocal work and love that guitar sound. Excellent work, Pete.

I hear that. And did I catch a bit of an Irish accent? Any other songs with Steph on this site? I tried, but my advanced Simple Machines search skills failed me. (Someone named StephenM kept overwhelming my search results.) I think I've seen videos of her fronting your band, but those videos recordings don't do the voice justice.

Third time listening this morning and I really like this. Just good ol' music and great lyrics. Well done! And I don't know where the time goes...

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.
