No horrible hiss there, so how come I'm getting so much?

i had to turn down the input as low as it would go and i think i set it at pop mix via the line in, was gonna record another song but forgot to set the plug in power to on, not realising i had to do that for every song so got 10 mins of silence aargh. one learns from ones errors.sh#t ,b#ll#cks etc
