I've said previously, I just enjoy 'Trying' to make music, and will do so until someone shoots me. (Thank Heaven for Gun Laws!!).
And when I think of my singing, Ha!, well Bob Dylan's only marginally better.
The drums and acoustic guitar for this were recorded on the BR864. The rest on the BR900 - hence my placing it here.
It's a story song, criminal lack of choruses.

Due to hearing loss among some of the Forum Members,
And my desire to hide the vocal as low as possible in the mix.
Here are the lyrics.

My Home Town.

High flies some flag over My Home Town
Waiting for the bugle call
Many main streets lie, stark with serenades
What's the purpose of it all?

Low stands the sun over My Home Town
(The Captain Chaplain to the Town)
Fades away while evening falls
(Prays alone on bended knee)
Caramel-coloured sky, apres everything
(Give us all our daily bread)
Such bread and circus for us all.

Some died like Saints over My Home Town
(All the young and dispossessed)
Barricades were clearly drawn
(Have no Faith or Thank you's left)
So stifle fife and drum, give up yesterdays
(All has been forgot)
Forgotten martyrs without cause.

Deep lies My love under My Home Town
(Gather not to break my peace)
Waiting for the Angels' call
(As you sow so shall you reap)
Why brave a world that's buried anyway
(The end shall be the end)
In the end chance help us all.

So now help run the Skull & Crossbones down
For high flies the White flag over My Home Town.

Well Done your voice is fine!...I'm digging them country licks too

48 - You've just become my Hero! As long as I'm on this Forum, then most others can feel superior, but, the pleasure I get from 'trying' to make music, is equal to anyone else's. So I'll be sticking around.  ;)

Hey, Steve - I agree w/ 48, your voice is fine!  I started singing just recently, and although I'm still very self-concious about it - I am still enjoying it, which is what counts!  Making music, and sharing it!!!  I just wish I could write lyrics...

DA - You've just become my Hero No-2! :) However, even Frank Sinatra couldn't convince me that I can hold a tune. But I do get a bucketful of fun trying to put songs together.

If I can ask, what sort of lyrics are you aiming for?

Not bad at all. I like the vocals, their softness really fits with the song. I liked the guitaring.

PFR - Thanks for that. My Post-More-Songs confidence builds daily. Just need to get my Studio re-set up after I've got rid of the workmen.

Nicely done. Sensitively sung. I really like the feel of this one. It's really good, I enjoyed listening to this. Honest and open. Superb. Th vocal layering works well.

Steve, I dunno what you did with the vox on here, but I like it. Glad you're sticking around. Nice one, for sure.
