Very inspiring to think this just jumped into your head like this.
To have that level of musicianship  is outstanding.

Man Tim this is blowing my mind... that singing and guitar and keyboard rhythm vs the drum rhythm is blowing my mind.... it is as if two spiritual entities are vying for attention.... and it works on me and for me.
this is one crazy and deep tune... for sure... it drips with love, pain, suffering.

great work Tim... great.

You create quite the atmosphere with that introduction then the vocal enters for some reason I'm getting a Mexican flavor to the track maybe from watching too much Narcos on Netflix but I enjoyed it excellent job Tim

Yeah, this is great! It would have been great even as an instrumental, but when the vocals appeared it rised up to an another level.

If you're still tinkering with the song, some small changes on the arrangement might make it even better.
The drum beats starting at 1:10 seconds mark feel a bit too hectic and draw attention away from the vocals. The flute is beautiful, but gets overused as the song progresses. I'd bring it out at certain points (for example where the melody is competing with the vocals) and using it more in the quieter passages.

I'm not familiar with the original either, but I like this version.

What are you using for the drumming?
