Just found this little gem.
Wow, this is good on every level.
The harp pulled me in, and then I was hooked.

That dobro is such a fine instrument and played so well with the perfect voice of Tim. A nice collab gents.
I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

Always a pleasure when I can get Jean to play with me great job

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

I'm publishing for my own account, with Tim's agreement of course, this cover he did of a bluegrass band The SteelDrivers
Tim did a version where he sings and plays guitar, bass, harmonica and banjo himself.
Listening to his version, I was immediately tempted to add a Dobro guitar part, which I did with his agreement. Thanks Tim for the invitation.
I'm publishing it with the addition of dobro guitar for 3 reasons
- to give Tim's cover a new audience
- to be able to include it in my own Jukbox
- to be able to include it in my Containment Musical Workshop series (renamed Musical Workshop, in the hope that covid will leave us alone!)

Of course, it could be better, as I simply mixed Tim's rendering with a Dobro take in practically live conditions (you can hear my studio swivel chair creaking at the very start of the cover).

Ps I deleted the message with this version in Tim's thread, so as not to duplicate it.

I've uploaded to YT the version with the lyrics translated into French, for my French friends.
(I like the theme of this song, which reminds me a bit of Robert Johnson, who sold his soul to the devil in order to play guitar better)

In the song it says
"He tuned it up like I'd never seen"
..no doubt the ghost tuned it in open E, like Stephen Still EEEEBE...it's easier to play with 1 finger! ;D
