This is a cover song of the Yardbirds, Shapes of Things. David Bowie also did a cover of it. Rob sent over a demo and hit me up for some vocals so I did 12 tracks of them, lol. Some of you will remember this song from 1966. We varied a little from the original. David Bowie added a half verse on his cover. So I used those and added 3 more lines to the last verse, to even it out.

Credits:

Rob Grant - All the backing tracks and music mix. (Guitars, bass, drums, and synths)
Bob Forbes - Lead guitar solo.
Farrell Jackson - All vocals, vocal mix, added additional lyric verse.
Mastered by LANDR.

(V1) Shapes of things before my eyes
Just teach me to despise
Will time make man more wise
Here within my lonely frame
My eyes just hurt my brain
But will it seem the same

(Chorus)
(Come tomorrow), will I be older
(Come tomorrow), maybe a soldier
(Come tomorrow), may I be bolder than today

(V2) Now the trees are almost green
But will they still be seen
When time and tide have been
Boy into your passing hands
Please don't destroy these lands
Don't make them desert sands

(Chorus and solo)

(V3) Soon I hope that we will find
A seed within our minds
That won't disgrace our kind
We need to open our eyes
Trust but always verify
Sort out the truth from lies
(chorus-fade to end)

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

This is a wild version! In fact it wouldn't need much changing to turn it into a metal song. I can almost hear Farrell fighting the urge of not breaking into a growl.

Great cover!

I do not remember when the original came out, but I do remember when Gary Moore's version did.

This sounds like something in between the two, and is full of energy and "badassery"

Well done. You rock!

Wow Geir - I was coming here to say exactly the same thing.

Farrell - This sounds great man. I'm floored. I love GM's heavy version and this one is right up there with it. You, Rob, and Bob did a fantastic job with this. Really love the arrangement.
It ain't pretty being easy.

Okay to Cover

i admit... i have been binging on this

is that Neal Schon or Eric Johnson?  wow that lead player is spec!

the enthusiasm in this track takes a few listens to pick up fully... it is like an act of "what if this is this is the last time we play" kind of passion

really special.. and this thing just rocks
