A Bolder Park installment. This is a song Gabriel and I have been messing around with for sometime. Gabriel's vocal recordings were sounding a bit distorted, but after some feedback and advice from a recording whiz friend of his Gabriel has finally eliminated the buzz and distortion for the most part from his vocal recordings and I think they are sounding much much cleaner.

I don't think this one is finished, but it's coming along and I'd like a little feedback from the community before we carry on. Don't be afraid to be honest about the music, vocals, recording levels, whatever, for this is how we learn.

Thanks,

Erik

Those are sweet vox - that's all I really have to say 'bout that... I lestened again to try and find anything at all, but I could think of is how good this song is - there is a guitar solo in the middle that could be brought to the center more(OR double tracked, delayed and panned), but that's a petty suggestion, really.

Love the guitar work - my 3rd listen - I'm already addicted...

Nice production, So many parts to listen to!

Greeny

There's so much going on, it's hard to un-pick all the parts for constructive feedback. When the vocals go very high (which I loved!), it sounded a bit like the Scissor Sisters, lol. The guitars are great, and the panning and mixing is all good. My only critical thought is that the vocals - despite being very good - are lacking a bit in clarity, and that there's not a huge tonal variation in them for the first part of the song - i.e. there's no take off point for a chorus etc. I'd have them a little softer and cleaner until the main drums and guitars kick in, and maybe think about some variation after that. Yep - onto listen number two, and I still have the same thought. Great song though guys!

Thanks Greeny, I was kind of think the same thing about the vocals, I'll run it past Gabriel and see what he thinks.

Some of you said there is a lot going on, were you referring to the music? And is that a nice way of saying there is too much going on?

Musically, I think there's complexity without any overcrowding. I really admire the way you layer complimentary layers of guitar - it's very similar to what I'm always aiming for with Jemima's Kite. So no... there isn't too much going on. I just have a feeling that some changes to the vocals will help give some variation and separation that will help the overall feel of the song out.
