Hey T that funny, I have the exact same cheap Yamaha guitar.  It was my first guitar and I now have it tuned OpenG for learning slide.  Great slide guitar.  Back to your song.  Flipping excellent, this solo side of you is intense and raw and very catchy and good.  It has style man.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Yup, you are all over the different musical styles like a North London chameleon! This is really, really cool, right up my street. I LOVE that heavy bass and the way it complements the riffing guitar. This is simple but very, very effective. The repeating of the simple "Blame it on the pain" and the hooky riff makes it get right inside your head. Love the way you jump right in with the vocals as well, and the vocal sound is great - did you use a guitar effect on it?

One slight thing though - the mix is very centred. I would be tempted to double the guitars and widen the stereo image more. Only a minor point though.

Don't let the other guys know what you get up to when you are on your own, they might get worried you will want to do a solo album. I wouldn't post this on an internet forum........oh, whoops, too late!

Cheers,

Nigel

The "Blame it on the pain" parts didn't have an effect on them....  I nearly threw up after the last lot on the track....Lol

The Verse vocal parts had the same "Smooth lead" effect as all of the Guitars...... They Needed something just to fit them into the song..... I couldnt keep up the same tone as the Chorus parts without coughing up some blood!

Hmmm......Solo you say?

BB

Thats freaky....

Does it have the same stickers!? Lol

The strings have never been changed in the time I have had it Either....

LOL, no effect, no wonder you had throat trouble!

I wasn't really thinking of a solo, I think just having two guitars playing roughly the same thing panned wider left and right would open up the mix. I think a solo might get in the way of the great riffs you have there.

Wouldn't want to cause the "The Pain" any pain.....

Cheers,

Nigel

holy sheet mon...in your face smash mouth rocker here! Just loved the sound of that rhythm guitar! Well arranged and hot performances on all fronts. Great tune!

ps...i also have a little Yamaha like that...circa '76...it's tone just gets better over time.. Practically plays itself. I play out and record with my Taylor but often songwrite with the Yommy. What it lacks in volume it makes up for in tone and playability.
