"Lay Down Sally" is a song performed by Eric Clapton, and written by Clapton, Marcy Levy, and George Terry
"Lay Down Sally" is a country blues song performed in the style of J. J. Cale

I did the guitars, organ, bass and vocals.

Just BIAB for the drums"train beat" and especially for the country-style solo guitar by Johnny Hiland, at 1mn 50, from Band in a Box.

Johnny Hiland is an American guitarist who has won international acclaim for his mastery of technique. Johnny, who is blind,. In 1996, he moved to Nashville and worked as a studio musician for country artists such as Toby Keith, Ricky Skaggs, Janie Fricke and Hank Williams III. Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Lay Down Sally and take it like a man! These would be the modernized lyrics, or if written by Lou Reed :)

I like this song. The lyrics are probably easy to understand, but i'm always having different visions on how the story goes.

I mean with lyrics like "Lay down, Sally, no need to leave so soon. I've been trying all night long just to talk to you" it's hard not to think that the man singing these words to Sally must be a real bore!

Lonwinded rambles that take ages. How often have you needed to lie down just to hear someone talking? Perhaps while reading this?

JP you're such a country man!
