A cover of a Johnny Marr song. A nice easy one with manageable chords. And onto the next one... enjoy! :)

Ooh, nice one Mike. Really sounds like Marr's playing style and his sound.

Love it

Great start to the 21st Century fest Mike. I love a bit of Johnny Marr, he's the reason I bought a Fender Jaguar. This song was also on my list as a potential song for this fest as it's a tune I often play when having a noodle. Love your version, really does the song justice !

Hey Mike, I was wondering who was going to be the first to post a song for The 21st Century Song Fest and you're the winner! I didn't know this song so I had to youtube it for a listen. I must say you did a great cover of Hi Hello. The guitars jingle and are airy. Your lower register vocals works well. A great job of it!

This works a treat! I don't really know anything about Marr. Although i've drooled at the Johnny Marr Jaguar model...

I really like your vocs and i think you've made the song your own which is a good thing. I had a listen to the original and the original was like i expected it to be. The overall sound is so slick and polished that it draws me away from the song as it has that generic modern commercial sound. Yours has a different vibe with more character and it works better for me. Puts the song and performances to the foreground.

Your version is an enjoyable listen. I would skip the original if i heard it from the radio.

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I am not a conneseur when it comes to Johny Marr but after I listened to the original you do sound great.
I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

Hi Mike,
I love this... the start, the finish and everything in between...

I like your covers because it brings a little different side of you forward... what I hear is hints of the Pretenders and the guitars remind me of Patti Smith's song 1959 and a little of Blue Oyster Cult (I think that may be more the progression though)...
it doesn't matter the comps because you rock... every time... the ending was really super... that quick stop with the sudden chord change just before.

Very nicely covered, Mike. Love those jangling guitars and the production is spot on.
