Ooohh yes we did. And .... in Norway we have 2 official versions of the Norwegian language, one that's highly influenced by Danish (remember Norway was under Danish and Swedish govern for a couple of hundred years) and one "new-Norwegian" (nynorsk)that was constructed based on dialects by national-romantics i the 19th century. ..... Interested in more linguistic history, look here :  Nynorsk .. long story short ... all kids in Norway must learn both languages in school .... not many appreciated nynorsk ....... NRK, the national broadcasting company (and at that time the only one) was obliged to have at least 20% nynorsk .... well Clangers became "Romlingane" (a nynorsk translation more or less of Clangers) .....
