I found this poem (author unknown) on the web called Suppose.....it kind of resonated with me so I thought I would use it to write a song. I modified the poem somewhat and aded some of my own lyrics and developed it into this song...it was a fun excercise for sure...Keith added his awesome bass to the track to finish it off nicely....

All That We Say
written/performed/recorded by Dave Berry, with some assistance from Keith Berry on bass
Dave: lyrics/vocals, electric guitar (Epi SG, Gretsch G5420T, Hagstrom Impala), GB drums and organ
Keith: Bass
recorded on an iPad into Garageband
If all that we say on a single day
With never a word left out
Were written each night
In black and white
Would prove strange reading no doubt
Would prove strange reading no doubt

The morning sun is shining, just living for today
Watching my mind and all the things it says

Before we drift off to sleep
We must read the whole record through
Then wouldn't we sigh
And wouldn't we try
A great deal less talking to do
A great deal less talking to do

The morning sun is shining, just living for today
Watching my mind and all the things it says
I became free once I realized
The cage that held me is made of thoughts and lies

You can learn a lot that way
Just by being quiet
And watching the movie playing
Right before our eyes

If half that we say in a single day
Were left forever unsaid
I more than half think
That many a kink
Would be smoother in life's tangled thread
Would be smoother in life's tangled thread

Chorus

Damn Blues, this is epic... and what wisdom in those lyrics... but you took this and made an epic rock classic.... off the charts brother... this song has alot of influences... from prog to southern rock to pshychadelic and others as well... I wouldn't know where to begin to describe this... so I shall take the advice and be quiet...

awesome production and splendid bass work...

Fine musicianship, Dave and a well written song to compliment the excellent poetic lyrics.

What a wonderful music statement. Grandiose and warm sounding. Musically complex yet inviting. Beautiful for all the right reasons.

A fine outcome to a cool experiment. I love the stories behind these tunes. The music has a fanfarish quality at times I really dig.

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

I needed an another dose of this. The coffee wasn't cutting it. Hearing these airy sounds and the voice of warm hug made my flippers(* to float. The world is a better place with songs like these.

(* I'm not wearing any,but i'm taking artistic liberties here.
