You guys are bluesaholics! Throwin' a boogie in the fire for fun...

"Shot in the Arm"

HAVE YOU HEARD THE STORIES THAT THEIR TELLIN' NOW
'BOUT THE DIRT DOWN BY THE RIVER THAT'S NEVER SEEN A PLOW
WELL IT'S DEEP AND IT'S RICH AND IT GROWS AND IT GROWS
AND A MAN COULD MAKE HIS FORTUNE, WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS

CHORUS

LIVIN' ON A SIDEHILL FARM, MOSTLY MADE OF CLAY
TELL ME WHAT'S A MAN TO DO BUT TRY TO FIND A WAY
TO MAKE A LIFE AND LIVIN'..DO THE BEST HE CAN
GOES DOWN BY THE RIVER TO PLAY ANOTHER HAND

CHORUS

IN THE CHANCES THAT YOU TAKE, YOUR DESTINY IS BORN
IT MAY BRING YOU HAPPINESS OR LEAVE YOU SO FORLORN
BUT YOU WORK, AND YOU SWEAT, WITH NO GURANTEES
YOU GO DOWN BY THE RIVER AND SOW THE MAGIC SEEDS

Man o man is that ever cool Pinedog.  This could be a lost Neil Young song from the Ragged Glory album.  It is a beauty.  There is a kind of frantic sound or tension in the vocals, then the great jerky Neil Young blues solo kicks in.  Flipping fantastic.

Hey Charlie - a lively addition to your fine blues collection! The doubletracked lead parts were a treat and a very energetic solo toward the end. You are making great use of the 1200, my friend!!

BTW, Thanks for the comment on my latest song post. I have a hard time mixing vocals, and get busted all the time for trying to hide them :D But the truth is I thought they were loud enough this time - It's gotta be the headphones I use...

Have a great weekend,

Mark

Thanks a bunch BB...i guess alot more of Neil Young soaked into my muse than i sometimes think. You are a very intuitive listener BB...the "frantic tension" in my vox was intentional do to the subject matter..which few will understand or relate to.
"Jerky" is a great adjective for the solo...and again, Neil is famous for those. One listener at SC called it "psychotic"...LMAO...and i think it kinda is....didn't know how to get out of it except to just slam the door. Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment.  8)

Really great!

A true hot blues! :D
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

Nothing there you couldn't do OJH...if not today, probably tomorrow. Thanks for all your support  8)

Is that a dare? :D

Just kidding, i don't think my puberty voice could do the vocals :)

What a great vibe.  Love the Sun Records vocals.  Was that a slapback or loads o' reverb?  And the guitar reminds me of the Reverend Billy G's playing after he fell in love with those Bixonic Expandoras and got his mega-tones.

Very nice.  I'm smiling.

Peace.

man you guys hear everything. The "Sun Record vocals" are a great analogy. I struggle to find a sound vocally i like (who the hell doesn't?) I found this patch on my 1200 and used it on almost every song on my new CD...i think every song i have posted so far is on the same patch.. It's a slapback delay for a "rockabilly" sound that of course made Sun Records famous.
As for the Rev. Billy G....not familiar with him. I think i used my Tele with an Ibanez Tube Screamer for the lead. I'll look him up along with that unit. Thanks for checkin' it out Blooby.
