A few of you might know that for the last year or so I've been playing in a soul/Motown covers band, but we're having to take a break for a couple of months until our bass player has a heart problem sorted out. As soul music wasn't on my radar in my youth I've been getting to know some of the soul classics and decided to have a go at this one by Curtis Mayfield. It's also a song that Jeff Beck covered and performed with various artists over the years. So elements of Mayfield and Beck, as the Mighty Boosh might say, "combining to make something not quite as good as either"

(Also a debut for the Michael Kelly guitar I bought a few weeks ago)

Excellent cover ....Hope you had your turquoise  suit on while doing the dance routine for those backing vocals they sound great ...the Michael Kelley sounds great it's got a beautiful tone

ahhhh, the guitars sound great right out of the box... but to be really honest, the way you are playing and singing this I could almost hear this as a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover... I love the way this flows along Pete..

Really enjoyed this. It's a great song. I always remember the Jeff Beck/Rod Stewart version. You did a lovely laid back version. Lovely vocal and great guitar, great tone also.
