"Sweet Beulah Land" was written and composed by Squire Parsons in 1973, and Beulah Land refers to heaven.
I did this instrumental version with my Dobro guitar (which is a lap steel guitar, with a metal resonator, very much used in country and bluegrass music) in the first part in G. The second part in A is played with my Weissenborn guitar, which is also a lap steel guitar, commonly called "Hawaiian guitar".
The sound of the Weissenborn is more crystalline (a bit like the difference in tone between the piano and the harpsichord

backtrack on 2nd part with BIAB  (drums, accordeon, mandolin) and midi keyboard for bass and piano

NB if you want to hear a sung version listen to the version by the Petersen group
The Petersens are an American bluegrass family band from Branson, Missouri. Since the group's inception, they have been a regular feature on Country Music and Bluegrass television specials.

I listened again to the sung version of your friend Tim...in fact I had heard it when you posted it but as it is a song that I didn't know at all at the time I listened to it I didn't remember it
It is MAGNIFICENT! and I recommend it to all those who have not heard it

I hope you can pass on my instrumental version to your friend, in memory of his mother
