One for the road as they say.

I tried to do this properly, but unfortunately those Andy Gibb vocals kicked my behind... And after that i didn't feel like putting any more effort into it so it's a bit basic. The original has all kinds of guitar licks which are missing from this.

If someone would like to have a go with the vocs the tracks are available :)

Nice, I like it - Has a swingin' country vibe to it. Don't know the song, I was a teen or maybe a preteen when he was popular. When we went skiing at the local mound "Thicker than water" and "I just want to be your everything" always played.

Brings back some thoughts for sure

I liked the early Bee Gee's but I could never be associated with liking an artist like Andy Gibb...lol... this would have been yellow rivers....
however I have gotten over most of my musical arrogance and find this quite lovely!  I also don't know the song but I like your version... seriously it sounds really nice!

Don't know the original but this sounds great to me Zoltan. I think you did a decent vocal but I hear where you are coming from, sometimes it's hard to do a song full justice when it is at the limit of your vocal range. But it sounds good to me. I like it! ;D

Nice cover of this song, it's got a nice laid back feel to it. I'm not familiar with the original but great vocals and excellent production.

I gotta comment this :D This is one of my most painful tracks... Almost makes me want to remove it, but i'll just keep it as a learning experience.

It would actually help if you'd hear the original. Then you'd know what i was going for. That crying / whiney vocal performance is weak as a kitten, but at times mimics quite closely the original take (without having the redeeming qualities of the original).

I did mess up with the key so i ended up doing this in C (instead of A). I did the same with the Gordon Lightfood track. It would have been way easier for me to sing it from the original key (A) or G, but while doing the synths i accidentally transposed it into E. I noticed this when i started to record the guitars :) Then i just had to sing it that way....

I like it...can I try to add some dobro, weissenborn or lap steel licks?

Yes of course! I'm sure you're additions would make it way better :)

Do you need the files, backing track or something?

Hello Zoltan ,...I had fun this afternoon jamming with your track "Flowing river", with my Dobro guitar

If you want I can send you the dobro track in MP3 or wave (if you wanted to make a different mix)
..if not I can publish it in my series "containment musical workshop with friend across the world (although the Covid seems to leave us a little bit of repit)
