Ok ... haven't had much time lately, to listen to all the good stuff that's come or post anything myself. One night at the hotelroom I've been staying at a couple of weeks, I took my guitar up from the car and started foolin' around with some open C tuning .....  this is what came out (I couldn't be too loud so the playing is rather .... controlled .. )

This is Deep C Blues :

I'd love to hear the un-controlled version, sounds interesting. Feel like I'm in the USA outback with Hillbillies. Nice.

Very cool Geir. I LOVE this delta blues.

What kind of guitar are you using?

Here is a link to a documentary that you might be interested in checking out.

Open C?, who the heck does OPen C?  Man o man you are an original Geir.  Great playing, sounds like you had a good stress reliever with this one.  I like it.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Very nice, Geir. There's a lovely, natural feel to this - like I'm hearing it live as you play it. Great stuff!

Still traveling? It's great you have you guitar with you, though! :D

I love this - it has a real natural and live sound to it. It was long enough to catch the moment and really feel the song as well. Excellent!!

You the man, Geir!!

Thanks for finding time to catch up with us!!

Geir

Thank you all !!

Guitar used is my only 6-string acoustic, a Jasmine from the early 90s. Strung with 011 elixir strings tuned:

  E A D G B E
  C G C G C C

where all but the B (and G) is tuned down. It's the first time I've tried this tuning (haven't really seen it before I think) and what's fun is that you get two identical Cs that can just stay loose if you use your thumb to barre the four others.

I will try to rerecord it when I get time. Will be travelling next week too.
