"Darling Be home Soon" was one that I had my eye on also, we may get a few versions of this great song, which is fine, they will all sound a little different.  Great flipping song, I love the way John Sebastian just stands there in the middle of that stage, in front of all those people, with nothing but his guitar, stoned out of his mind, and just nails this song.  I get shivers listening to this one.  So great.

Woodstock!  Wow - most definetly count me in!  I was 14 yrs old (early 70's) when I first saw the movie - which did not do justice to all of the songs/performers for the entire festival...  I was playing @ the time, actualy learning how to play the laud (12 string Lute) and the Venezuelan cuatro, then jumped into the guitar after the movie.  Man, I am wondering if could do Alvin Lee's/Ten Years After "I'm Going Home", hmmm...  Or Jimi H.'s Instrumental Solo......  "Soul Sacrifice" by Carlos S........  Gotto do some thinking here!
I think my fingers may not like that.  Just the movie all by itself introduced me to a lot of musicians/music ---  heck, I still have the original vinyl I bought in 1972, which I still listen to!

This will be fun!!!

And I find that Janis Joplin did her cover of "To Love Somebody". Well, I've already been looking at recording a whole bunch of the songs that got me going when I was 14-16... and they're all late 60s, early 70s, Bee Gees songs :D. I've always imagined this is one of the easier ones for me to do.

I've had a look at that one too. For me, it was because of the awesome Gram Parsons version of it. It's pretty straightforward guitar-wise (I've already nailed the chords), and it's one hell of a song. Those Bee Gees sure know how to write a tune. Islands in the Stream is another one of theirs I have the highest regard for.

I've decided to start with something a little more left-field though... lol

I just found a Dusty Springfield version (recorded at the BBC) on spotify - possibly beats the Bee Gees version for me!

I was hoping somebody woud try to tackle some WHO!!!!  There is a lot to choose from, but damn they are a hard band to cover (which is why you hardly ever hear any WHO covers).  The singing, the guitar, the bass, the drums, my god the drums...what a band.

Actualy I am thinking about doing one (We are not going to take it - from Tommy) => was one of the first songs I learned w/ the guitar (1974) - trying to figure out how I'll add some of the other instrumentation --- thinking also of "The Band", and maybe some Richie Havens.
