California is giving me "free" stuff!

We got ~$800 in food cards from the Socialist Republic of California, supposedly to make up for all the (awful) school food my kids "missed" while the schools were closed for 1.5 years during the pandemic (yeah, 1.5 years)

So anyways I got a $800 windfall (notice how I changed the wording from "we" to "I". You see, it was me who opened the mail, not my wife.)

The catch is I can only use it to buy food and I'm having a really hard time deciding what I should get?

- Filet Mignon?
- Caviar?
- Oysters?
- Truffle?
- Foie Gras?
- (unfortunately I don't think you can use this card to buy liquor)

But there is also an even bigger dilemma. Since I will have saved $800 on food, the only sensible thing to do would be to spend the $800 of money saved on a new guitar, right? But which one?

- Epiphone Slash Les Paul?
- Fender Player Strat?
- PRS SE custom 24?
- Taylor 114 acoustic?
- Martin Special 000?

It is just too hard to decide....Perhaps I can convince my wife that I should buy a $999 guitar instead since it will effectively only cost $199, right?

I have decided that, for moral reasons, I'm just gonna buy some vegetables for my kids.  Or maybe not use the food cards at all, so that the government "reabsorb" the money.
