Hey everyone, lets have a good old fashioned backing track lead-over friendly challenge.  It is time to do another of these (look back in history to see other backing lead-over challenges done), and this is such a great backing track.  Grab your guitars, your recorder, your inspiration ( a few red ales usually does the trick for me in this department), and jam away.  Post the finished track in the Post your work section, and we will all listen and comment on each others post.  Great fun to be had by all, all styles, all playing levels welcome.  I am going to give this a go tonight.  Who else is up for this.  Let the "David Gilmour, G minor pentatonic" backing lead-over challenge begin.

Id do it, but now upon listening to it, its got a lead already over the rhythm...I dont wanna stomp all over it if thats AverGo or even David Gilmore...I dont see what I could add except some whole note bends here and there...unless I took the center out...but then I feel like Im stompin on somebodys work, like AverGo's.
I guess I just dont understand  ???

I feel the same way as Sprocket... Especially because, for me, trying to play over a lead that is already there has a tendency to lead me, rather than ignoring it and exploring on my own. Especially if it is a good lead, like what is in there already.

I don't have my MBR on me right now to try it myself. Will center cancelling work on this?

I don't know what you guys are referring to as a "lead".  That sounds like rhythm fills to me.  I take this whole thing to be the rhythm track.  If that is a lead it is pretty subtle and laid back.  I am at work so I haven't had a chance to try anything yet, but the backer sounded so nice to my ears I just wanted to play along with it.  I believe that it was recorded to be a "backer" to solo over the top of.

Maybe it will be hard to solo over, we'll have to see.  It still is a really great sounding backer.

I agree there is a strong lead element to this backer but there is still room for a principal solo as avergo has already expertly shown.........

AWESOME...I'll have a go when my finger heals up......:(..

I gave er a go tonight.  Results posted here.  I didn't find the "lead" on the backer to be intrusive at all.  The whole thing sounds real nice while playing along with it I found.  Nice backer for sure.
