It's a great progression.  The drums and bass support and give energy very well.

major points to the backing vocals.  That off lead is cool and really solid as well...

but the star here is the voice!  to me anyway... you can't find those on every street corner.

I don't know if you were thinking hook When you came up with the "down, down, down" part and the like, but it's catchy as all get out. Great tune that rises above simple pop in spite of those infectious verses.
