I've not heard the original (that I'm aware of) but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your take. It has just the right amount of bounce to keep it upbeat without losing the sincere and emotive elements. I guess I should go listen to the original, but honestly, I'm very happy with this being the definitive take as far as my own listening is concerned.

This is an interesting version. Very leftfield to the original, With the totally different feel it seems to swing in a jazzy way but with a kind of marching drum beat. Then you add the vocals which throw another curveball in there, bluesy kinda delivery. Quirky and bloody great... a bit of Robert Plant in the vocal too!

I have a vague recollection of the original and can immediately tell this is a very creative reinterpretation, which I like.  Everything sounds great, especially vocals and keyboards!  Mix is great too!
