I was thinking about doing an Air Supply cover, but then decided to try Nirvana instead ;D

This is off their first album in 1989 and also on their MTV Unplugged album.

Tracks
- Fender Mustang P90 Guitar (doubled, panned) into Amplitube 5 DS1 distortion pedal plugin and Fender Twin Reverb Amp plugin. Also used on the lead guitar break.
- Vocals (doubled) - AT4040 mic into CLA vocals and CLA effects ("drive") plugins. Guitar and vocals recorded with Tascam US-2X2HR interface
- Bass - MODO Bass plugin - Flame Bass, with distortion (midi)
- Drums - MODO Drums plugin - Grunge Kit (midi)
- Mixed and Mastered in Reaper, using API-2500 compressor and L1 Limiter plugins.

cooman....

this rocks like no tomorrow.

Sounds like you had fun on this and it is really good... pardon me and yes, it does have a Nirvana feel, it really could be B52's jamming with some singers from the 60's 45 era!  I listen to alot of songs from all those eras and some of the folks from the 60s could really rock...especially the vocals... they were doing new wave 15 years before it became a thing...
this has me really excited Doug...

the drums and bass just push those really cool guitars right to the edge of the cliff...

you know what?  you could cover Air supply but do it like this!  Now that I would pay to hear... so much fun...

Party On Garth....!!!

Mr. Sun goes edgy and turns a fine cover version that sounsd like The Troggs covering Nirvana!

I'd say that's a one kind of nirvana for those who enjoy the 60's (like Cobain most certainly did). Great sounds, solid playing and vocals that seal the deal.

I think this song just got Des0freefied!

Thanks for the feedback!  This was a hard cover for me, especially the vocals, since it is a quite different style than most of my other covers.

Interesting you say it has a 60s flavor.  I read about the song that it was written after Cobain spent a whole night listening to album "Meet the Beatles" on repeat. In an interview he also said he was initially reluctant to put it on the record because it was "too pop" and might ruin their cred with the grunge rock crowd. That's probably why I gravitated to the song :D Actually I got the idea when I was listening to a Rick Beato youtube video (do you watch him?) about songs with key changes. The song has an abrupt key change going into the chorus that I think is cool; but was hard to learn to sing.

Thanks for your comment. Insightful , like I replied also to Stephen: "Interesting you say it has a 60s flavor.  I read about the song that it was written after Cobain spent a whole night listening to album "Meet the Beatles" on repeat. I haven't listened a lot to Nirvana (except their hits that got radio play) but my son idolized them. A very clean recording and vocals. A cool cover Deso!
