i wasn't going to post this one, it's a bit of a dirge with no hook, little dynamics and a bit depressing

for me, this is not depressing. It makes a really great mood music for just casual listening in the background while reading etc... the problem is i keep reaching for the volume knob as I get drawn into that swirling beat and mesmerizing hook...
there is a hook.. it's a big one...
maybe not a commercial pop song chorus hook... but something like Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel might do..

try as I might I just cannot dislike your music!

I'm with Stephen; this is not depressing. Indeed, I'm on my second listening and it sounds even better.

Quite simple backer, but you've created fine mood here with lyrics and beautiful vocal melodies.

I'm so glad you decided to post this ORH. It's a delicate song and subject but in no way do I hear anything depressing. I hear a guy expressing his thoughts in a song in a similar fashion as Peter Gabriel does. A fine song and I'm on listen #2.
